MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS
and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NIV)
What a contrast: on one hand the Thessalonians are famous for being loving and caring Christians (vv 9-10). Thumbs up!!
Yet, on the other hand, they don't work hard enough to make their own living and depending on others. What a shame!!
It's a very good reminder that we never use our Christian ministry as an excuse! We have to manage both well, loving people as well as excell in our profession/business.
That's how we can gain respect from others and bring glory to God's name! (plt 210714)
